Stupid News Story of the Day

Paris Hilton was released from jail today, only a few days after she began serving her 45-day sentence for violating probation.

A police officer cited "medical issues" in his statement upon her release, but he did not elaborate. TMZ.com earlier quoted sources saying that she was "refusing to eat much of the jail food served her."

So, now it's official. Our legal system is afraid of celebrities and will do anything to keep them happy. Paris Hilton, the quintessential hedonistic heiress, was found guilty of drunk driving in January. She was given two years of probation. In February, she violated probation and, after a malodorous process, was placed in jail--for a few days.

Paris Hilton apparently went on some bizarre hunger strike to protest her own stupidity. She is such an sad but arrogant person. I pity her deeply. That said, however, if she was not Paris Hilton, but some ordinary woman on the same charges, she would still be in jail, whether she went on a "hunger strike" or not.
