The Extreme Makeover of Hillary (Rodham) Clinton, by Bay Buchanan

This book is extremely hard on Hillary. Almost too hard to be believed. Buchanan portrays Hillary as an insecure infomaniac. I can hardly agree with this assumption. I see her as more of a cynical politician, manipulating those around her for her own gain.

There is one passage in the book, however, that shines. It is talking about Hillary's original vote for War Authorization:

"But here are the facts. A heated national debate preceded the vote [to approve the use of military force against Iraq], with the antiwar voices from the Left and the Right, demanding the president seek congressional authority before proceeding. He did so. He toook his case to Congress and they gave him the authority he needed. The measure was entitled, "A Joint Resolution to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq." Nothing ambiguous about it--and Hillary voted for it.
Now Hillary claims she didn't believe that she was voting for war--that is a lie. She doesn't have the courage to defend her vote or the courage to call it a mistake--she wants to blame it on someone else. He [Bush] "misled" me--it's all his fault.
But the bravery and sacrifice of our soldires--over three thousand of whom gave their lives--demands more from our leaders, especially those who would be president. Whether President Bush's decision was right or wrong, wise or foolish, he has always accepted full responsibility for it. For this much, he must be commended.
Hillary, on the other hand, accepts no responsibility. She is, therefore, not fit to serve, unqualified to command, and not worthy to be commander in chiref of our fine young men and women. It's about character."

Hillary is an opportunist. She attaches herself to the ascendent War platform, and speedily dismounts at the first sign that the war isn't goingwell. But hey, that's politics.

McCain fumbles the ball

Say goodbye to McCain as a presidential candidate. He was lagging in polls, and his fundraising attempts were rather poor, but he was still one of the GOP frontrunners. Not anymore. The source of his doom is actually two-fold. According to pundit Michael Reagan, son of Pres. Ronald Reagan, he is doomed because of his support of the newest wrongheaded immigration bill. However, that isn't the worst. According to NewsMax.com, he flew into a rage at some sort of debate, uttering both the s-word and the f-word. What a colorful man. Definitely someone us "family-values" conservatives want to elect. I really hope he's learned his lesson.

Evolution Rebuffed 1

My first in a series of arguments against evolution. Let it be known that I have a classical Christian worldview, and so I am predisposed to doubt evolution, but the very theory itself seems riddled with holes.

Argument 1:

Evolution teaches that, over eons of time, one species eventually "evolves" into another through natural selection. This has been categorically proven. For example, look at the many and varied breeds of dogs and cats, all of which came about through human-encouraged natural selection. Since dogs were first domesticated, the profusion and variation of breeds has grown exponentially. Starting with the first pair of dogs that walked off the ark, we now have hundreds, maybe even thousands, of largely distinct breeds. They are so diverse that they cannot truly be called members of the same species. Look at the corgi. Does it truly resemble a St. Bernard enough to be a member of the same species? No. And yet, these dogs all descend from a common ancestor, whether you believe in evolution or Christianity. This is proof of microevolution. Darwin, of course, went further, and applied his theory to all species on the earth, and indeed life itself. That is macroevolution. Of course, this method would take billions of years, and still does not explain how life itself started. Evolutionists attempted to answer this question by saying that life began in its simplest form from a random reaction of two chemicals. This is, of course, impossible. It still leaves unexplained matter. How did the chemicals that reacted to form life come to be? According to evolution, they have always existed. This is ludicrous. Without God, the universe is implausible, incomprehensible, and unexplainable.

And here it is...

The end is near. This is my final post about the 2008 candidates, and boy is it a big one.

The Cast of Major Characters with at least a moderate chance of getting elected:
The Party of Lust
1. Hillary Clinton
2. Barack Obama
3. John Edwards
The Party of Greed
1. Rudy Giuliani
2. Mitt Romney
3. John McCain

The Cast of Minor Characters with a slim to infinitesimal to nonexistent chance of getting elected:
The Party of Lust:
1. Al Gore-Global Warming Idiot-in-Chief, Former VP and Hollywood's darling little Pookie-poo
2. Joe Biden-Credentials: Boring leftie
3. Bill Richardson-Gov. of New Mexico (yes, he's a democrat) but besides that...YAWN!
4. Dennis Kucinich-Execrable piece of sheep dung
5. Former Gen. Wesley Clark-a military leftie. Sound like a contradiction? It's not. He was a general in NATO, and not in our armed forces. He thinks his position as a former general allows him to critique the president's handling of the war in Iraq without contradiction. No chance at all.

The Democratic second-fiddle candidates, or in this case third, fourth, and fifth-fiddle, have even less chance than the GOP minor characters because, unlike the GOP, the major Dem candidates actually represent liberal values (contradiction in terms.) Hillary for the aging Boomers apoplectic at the thought of passing the reigns on to the next generation. She also attracts flies and radical feminists. Obama for the ones who are willing to take a chance on an untried and fairly green candidate, and Edwards for those left behind (like the racists and sexists who wouldn't vote for the other two.)

The Party of Greed:
1. Mike Huckabee- Former Gov. of Arkansas (Yes, where Bill Clinton is from) and former Baptist minister. Also known as the "Disappearing Governor" for losing fifty pounds while in office. Good morals, but perhaps not the most conservative of Christians. Slim, but entirely possible chance; see below.
2. Sam Brownback- Senator from Kansas....His campaign is like his state: flat and dry. Slim to no chance.
3. Duncan Hunter- Rep. from California (!) and yet another boring candidate. Like Brownback, he seems like decent president material, but with the odds slated against them, we'll never really know.
4.Tom Tancredo-Weird guy from Colorado. Illegal immigration is his schtick.
5. Newt Gingrich-Fat, ugly, morally slack and hypocritical former Speaker of the House. His face has been compared unfavorably to a fire hydrant.
6. Tommy Thompson-Former Governor of Wisconsin and member of President Bush's cabinet (Health and Human Services.) Seems like a nice guy, cursed with a face that looks like a catcher's mitt. No chance whatsoever.
7. Fred Thompson-Former senator and actor from Tennessee, starred in hit TV series "Law & Order." The only movie I've ever seen him in is The Hunt for Red October with Sean Connery and Alec (Hack! Hack!) Baldwin. He played the Captain of a aircraft carrier and delivered the best line of the whole movie in a gravelly southern accent: "Son, [to Baldwin] your average Rusky don't take a dump without a plan." This seems rather crass, but you really have to see it. I laughed out loud (yes, I lol-ed) the first time I saw it.

The Repub. lower tier candidates have more chance than the Democrats for one reason. Here it is:

Picture this situation: You're at the Democratic Convention in Denver Colorado, and the candidate has just been announced. By a fairly wide margin, Hillary is nominated. Obama stands up and, instead of surrendering, announces his campaign as an independent. This will split the democratic vote, and because of the waffling of the Republican main-liners, there is a fair chance for men like Huckabee and Fred Thompson. This has happened twice in the last century, once in 1912, when William Howard Taft and Theodore Roosevelt split the Republican vote and gave democrat Woodrow Wilson the presidency, and again in 1992, when George H. Bush and rich weird guy Ross Perot split the Republican vote and gave Bill Clinton, everyone's favorite drugged-up womanizer, the presidency. This could very well happen again with Obama and Clinton.

And now, the moment I'm sure you've been waiting for: my pick for President!

My pick is...FRED THOMPSON!!! A movie star running for president as a Republican? A charismatic man with previous political experience reinvigorating the conservative base? Sounds suspiciously familiar, doesn't it? Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Fred Thompson is Ronald Reagan all over again, God bless him!

Well, there it is. I hope you enjoyed it. Now, I'm going to take a little break from the candidates and concentrate on other issues, principally religion and the books I'm reading.

Stupidity Factor: 10

No two people have ever caused such pain and suffering for millions; long live the Clintons!

I'll be back later with my biting rhetoric for and against the minor Democratic and Republican candidates.

The pen, or in this case the keyboard, is indeed mightier than the sword.

Party of Greed, Candidate #3

John McCain

Maybe it's harsh to call McCain a fat old geezer, but it seems to fit the bill pretty well. He would be the oldest president ever if elected, as he is already over 70. His maverick status might help him in a regular election, as he has the uncanny ability to hover in the middle of issues, although the talent pales in comparison to Hillary's ability to seem on both sides of the same issue, a great gift indeed; but in this election John McCain toes the party line on the war in Iraq, the key issue, and so-called "values voters" are repulsed by the very term "maverick" in reference to a Republican candidate. For this reason, McCain will find the middle of the aisle a very lonely place.

$Disney$ and the debasement of an icon.

Here is an article in the second-to-latest issue of Newsweek magazine. It is definitely a prime candidate for my "The stupidest things ever" list.

"Oh Bother! It's Darby.

The hundred Acre Wood had welcomed only one human: Christopher Robin. But fans who tune in to Disney's latest Pooh series, "My Friends Tigger & Pooh," will find the boy has been largely replaced—by a 6-year-old girl named Darby. In the new show, Tigger and Pooh don superhero duds and solve mysteries (who's stealing Rabbit's rutabagas?). Executive producer Brian Hohlfeld thought Christopher Robin was too old for such sleuthing, so he designed Darby. She was a huge hit in post production testing. But Pooh purists won't be pleased: Christopher Robin appears in only two of the 26 episodes. British journalist Hugh Fraser, who launched a "Save Christopher Robin" campaign on his blog, says Darby subverts A. A. Milne's vision. "For a girl to intrude breaks the spell of the story," he says. "They aren't her toys.

-Sarina Rosenberg"

Disney has shown its uglier, greedy, profiteering side before, but this one struck close to home, as the Pooh books and cartoons were a major part of my childhood, and of many other peoples'. Aaaahh!! It's so stupid!

The Party of Greed, Candidate #2

Mitt Romney

Wait a sec...How did a Mormon become the Republican governor of Massachusetts, a state which is so blue you can see it from space? Well, however he did it, he did do it, so we see that he can rise to a high post despite his religious differences and apparent waffle on social issues, which actually might have contributed to his win.

He might be vice president-material if he has to play second fiddle to Giuliani, as his photogenic appearance, (his smile is blinding) would weigh heavily in his favor. If only, if only. Sadly, Romney is nothing more that a power-hungry politician who sees the Republican party as a convenient way to advance his status. Is this the kind of man we want governing us? Of course not.

Thankfully, his chances are near-nil.

The Party of Greed, Candidate #1

Rudy Giuliani

Booooring. Yet another charismatic, unelectable, morally slack, progressive, and liberal Republican. Just exactly what we needed. It gets rather tiring after a while. Giuliani is, as I said earlier, a Prima Donna. A flighty, hedonistic celebrity who would quickly lose favor if he was elected, something that is not altogether unlikely. And yet, he is the GOP frontrunner.

What the heck is wrong with these people?

Next up: Mitt Romney

The Party of Lust, Candidate # 3

John Edwards

He just won't go away. Some people, uneducated, crude, vulgar, republican people, but people nonetheless, might be deterred by the fact that you had lost a presidential election in your own state. And yet, that's exactly what John Edwards hasn't done. I suppose you have to give him credit for perseverance. I mean, who in their right mind would be so heedless that he would continue to tun in the face of already having lost, and his wife, who he appears to love, having breast cancer again. Well, I guess all we've only proved that he's rather thick-skulled. In fact, many eminent doctors are of the opinion that his brain is no longer connected to the rest of his body, and that his body is merely "running on fumes" as one put it. Some are even of the opinion that he has no brain in his head. This may explain why he recently spent $400 on a haircut, out of his campaign donations. You'd think a former lawyer would know that you can't get away with things like that. Oh, wait... Anyway, Edwards doesn't have a chance against Obama or Clinton. I wouldn't even back him against Giuliani or Romney. Good Riddance, Brek Girl.

The Party of Lust, Candidate #2

So: on to Candidate #2

Barack Hussein Obama

Obama is a long shot for two reasons: He doesn't have the influence or the fundraising sources that Hillary has, although they're neck and neck in the fundraising right now with about 25 million for him and 26 for her, and I think she'll pull away from him in the polls. The second reason is that he has charisma. No bad thing, right? Wrong. He's all charisma and not enough issues, much like Segolene Royale, the French socialist candidate for Premier, which I believe is the equivalent of president .

It seems to me that Republicans are giving Obama an easy ride, instead of lambasting every move he makes like they do with Hillary. Even the notoriously soft-spoken, insightful, and humble Rush Limbaugh, in his Limbaugh Letter, did not antagonize Obama himself, but ridiculed what he calls "Obama-Worship" by Hollywood and the media. This light-fingering is probably caused partly by Obama's lack of a stand on issues, which, as we said earlier, might backfire rather badly on him, and the fact that Obama has leftist "Defenders of Equality" like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, who are ready to paint anyone who disagrees with Obama as a "racist fascist Nazi capitalist pig" if they're in a good mood, and such is their influence that many people would believe them. What a wonderful world we live in.

Next up, John Edwards.

The Party of Lust, candidate #1

Rod Dreher, in his excellent book Crunchy Cons, calls the Republicans and Democrats "The party of greed and the party of lust." This is no doubt apt. Our political system is padlocked by these two parties, full of men and women who are not leaders but politicians. But anyway, to business.

1. Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Clinton is an enigma. She continues to exert her influence on the American political system by some of the most daring and convincing lies ever perpetrated in that system, which, I don't need to tell you, has seen a lot of philandering in its day. Her carefully constructed persona of good will toward everyone is so real as to almost convince you. Does this deter the American people? Of course not, where have you been? History has shown that the best-funded candidate who can make him or herself out to be something completely alien to their nature is the one who will win the election, and will rule Park Place and Boardwalk with an iron hand for the next four years. I believe Hillary will win the election, and the next one. I dare say, she'll wrangle hard for a third term as well. Under her rule, the country would descend further back into the Primordial swamp. First of all, the Health Care system would be socialized, and the tax burden would virtually erase America's middle class. In Canada, it is noted, where they have socialized health care, most people who can afford it come to America for medical treatment. The hospitals, under contract from the government, would not have to fear malpractice lawsuits, standards would slide, and medical care would be reduced to a laughingstock. More, that is, than it has already.

Anyway, time constraints force me to close, but Hillary would be the worst thing in our country since Michael Jackson. And I mean that to sting.
